* Japanese By?bu Four-Panel Folding Screen Painting Koi Fish

Really cool Japanese four-panel folding silk painting--date and artist unknown. Paper matting, lacquered wood frame, and original hardware. These paintings are called By?bu, or "wind walls" and are made from several joined panels, bearing decorative painting and calligraphy, used to separate interiors and enclose private spaces, among other uses. This can be hung on a wall or placed on a sofa table etc to help better separate a room. The folding nature of the painting allows it to stand on its own. CONDITION Please see images for accurate representation of the painting. There are some scuffs around the support structure and a few minor smudges on the painting itself. One of the panels' support hanger has lost a nail, this can easily be repaired, but structurally it should be fine to hang with the three remaining hangers.
