Description:

First the most important question. Why sell a practically new scooter? Especially one that's in great demand and hard to find. I am 76 and I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the VA hospital 2 months ago (the Marine Corps stationed me at Camp Lejeune back in the '60s which is where the cancer started. A very strong immune system fought it off for over 50 years until it got old and weak enough for the cancer to overcome it), then they installed a fentanyl patch to relieve the pain which also makes you too loopy, weak and groggy to ride. Pancreatic is always terminal but they have me on chemotherapy to slow it down and try to get me 8 to 12 extra months, which exacerbates the problem. So the scooter has been collecting dust and there is no point in making more payments. It's on a trickle charger and I start it and let it idle for 10 minutes once a week to warm and circulate the oil throughout the engine and transmission so it's well lubricated and ready to ride.    Several years ago, after 50 years of riding motorcycles, I sold my 600 pound Honda Magna 750 and researched scooters for about 6 months and decided the perfect ride was the PCX. Lightweight and very low center of gravity so its tossable and fun and no clutch and shifting but powerful enough to be quick off the line and freeway legal when you need it but much more fun around town and tooling around the twisty two lanes in the hills around where I live north of escondido. And I always get over 100 miles per gallon. Look at the photos of the dash. I bought an older used one first to make sure, rode it for a year, sold it for what I paid for it and started looking for a new one. Found out Honda sells all they make to Asia and Europe and send very few to the US. After a year of hearing "we don't have any in stock but maybe we will get one in a couple of months" or the dealer in Huntington Beach who said they have two but I would have to pay all the usual dealer rip off extra charges plus a $1,000 "high demand surcharge" I was quite depressed. Finally last year a sales manager in Vista who was also a Marine called me back after 3 months and bumped me to the top of his waiting list so I raced over and bought my perfect scooter. Semper Fi!    If you have been searching for one you understand all this. If not, Google and YouTube PCX and find out. I owe $4,400 so that is the price. No more. No less. The over $1,000 in extras listed below are a Christmas gift from me to you. They are 1-an extra large high-end windscreen 2- quality expandable carry bag 3- quality handlebar cell phone holder 4- sheepskin seat cover 5- larger, softer hand grips for American size hands and 4- a light weight aluminum carrier for your truck or sport ute that easily carries the scooter. See photos. The extended extra foot pegs I made myself, as I have arthritis in my knees and have to straighten my legs for a few minutes at a time as I ride. You will not need them as the footboards were improved in 2022 and are very comfortable. The pegs can be removed in one minute each with a 10 mm ratchet wrench. If I can find the energy I will get rid of them before I run the ad. 5- I paid the $220 special first oil change and servicing where they make sure everything is tight and perfectly adjusted. It really is not necessary. It is a Honda! But I decided to be extra cautious for the peace of mind. For the next 20,000 miles you just change the oil every 5,000 miles yourself. 10 minutes and one quart of Honda oil.     And here is a special benefit that I discovered when I started riding the PCX. The scooter looks like a sport bike, especially from the front. Biker dudes of all sorts and ages were always giving me 'the wave' and an occasional thumbs up while sitting at traffic lights! More fun - while averaging 105 miles per gallon!    We live in an RV park 20 miles north of Escondido full of retired military and current Marines. You will feel perfectly safe and comfortable bringing $4,400 cash here. You will not be meeting someone in a Walmart parking lot. I got a personal loan from Navy Federal so the title has no lien and is clean and ready to transfer. First one here with the cash slides the carrier into their trailer hitch and loads the scooter. I will not be much help as I am rather weak and emaciated. But don't feel sad for me. I had a good, long run and I am quite satisfied.    For a test ride your cash in my hand and my title in yours and if you so much as scratch it you own it. At this point I will have zero patience for tire kickers or negotiators. I will simply turn and walk away and sell to someone more intelligent. If you didn't get any good Christmas gifts this year then buy yourself this one fantastic Christmas present. Most likely you would be able to put seven or 8,000 miles on the scooter over the next couple of years and then sell it for what you paid me for it.    I will not answer texts or emails. I'm old. Just call me and talk! Ben at 619-366-3260. If your call goes to voicemail I am probably asleep. I sleep a lot these days. Leave your name and number. I will call back in the order the calls come in.
